This project is part of an ongoing research on using natural light for the creation of light art installations.
“Growing in the dark” uses a self-made heliostat, which is a motorized mirror capable of following the sun and redirecting it’s reflexion to a fixed target during the whole solar day.
The light is reflected by a couple of mirrors through a long black conduit that eliminates the residual inderect bouncing light, allowing the plants on the dark room to grow just by the incidence of the light reflected by the mediatized sun through the mirror.
This installation is part of an exhibition curated by “Bólit” the contemporary art center of Girona that will run from June to October 2023.
