In 2017 we commemorated the winter solstice with ‘La llum de Sant Pau’ (Saint Paul’s light), a light symphony that invite to celebrate this moment of the year, the point from which the days are extended, the sun goes against the night and nature revives.
The Administration Pavilion was a bridge between heaven and earth, as a metaphor of a tree that buries its roots and extends its branches to the sky looking for light.
‘La llum de Sant Pau’ is also a tribute to modernist architecture, and especially to the work of Domènech i Montaner, who directly linked his works to natural forms. In fact, the vegetal and organic motifs are present in many of the architectural and decorative elements of the modernist group, even in the very basis of the conception of the design that was the Hospital de la Santa Creu and Sant Pau for more than 80 years.
