Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona.. July 2025
It’s been a pleasure to have contributed to the world premiere of the “Benjamin at Portbou” opera at @liceu_opera_barcelona, with a scenic adaptation of our “Signes” installation, working hand by hand with @andreu_fabregas_granes who made an astonishing and expressive light design. We created a 12x6 meters matrix of kinetic light fixtures which, along the theatre play, transforms into abstract dynamic imagery which accompanies the dramaturgy and the music. The stage direction by @annaponces transformed a complex text into a sensible metaphor of the war refugees drama without leaving aside the philosophical density of Walter Benjamin’s thought and life, perfectly contextualized by the costume design of @adriana_parra_e and #silviadelagneau. Composed and directed by the maestro @antonirosmarba, and interpreted by the Liceu’s symphonic orchestra and choir, we’ve had the best time with such an amazing and loving team. Looking forward to meet again and continue learning!
